Why Teach English Language Skills
As of 2016 Mexico, despite its shared border with the United States, still has a challenge with limited English language proficiency. It ranks below several other Latin American nations for English ability (and 38 other countries globally, including Russia, Ukraine, Slovakia, and Vietnam). Further, the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (IMCO) found that although English is the language of business in Mexico, only 5% of the population speaks or understands it.
In our local area of Puerto Aventuras
We as a local community can create opportunities to break cycles of poverty, to experience better paying and more educational opportunities for our residents. We encourage you to donate and support these children, as well as adults. These are the families of the local groundsmen, maids, and hotel workers who come inside the Puerto Aventuras gates to work.
English Language Employment
Language skills such as English are becoming the basic requirement for employment. The Riviera Maya, Mexico thrives off of tourism. Our number 1 visitors are from the United States. Originally, our nonprofit aimed to help provide English speaking classes for the local Poblado of Puerto Aventuras. This is where many of our local community workers come from. Today, not only do we offer English language classes to both children and the adults of the community. We offer university scholarships to qualifying youth that participate in our classes.
